Strawn leads slate of candidates

To the Editor:

The slate of candidates for the City Commission contains one particularly outstanding individual; Bob Strawn.

With his business background and experience he is well versed in the interrelationships between taxes, business incentives and jobs. Such issues seem to be every day topics in Manhattan these days what with the growth and development actions both underway and planned. Working with him on homeowner association matters we know first hand that Bob conscientiously makes a full and complete assessment of all elements of an issue before arriving at a final position on the matter.

Being a Vietnam veteran his military experience gives him a solid personal background to assess the potential impact of commission actions on Fort Riley and the military families residing in Manhattan.

While he is not exactly a "senior", he does have enough grey hair to appreciate the fallout of tax and bond issues on seniors and others living on a fixed income as well as the potential retirees the Chamber of Commerce continually works to entice to locate to Manhattan. One counter productive act in that field can quickly wipe out several hundred "attaboys".

In short, we believe Bob Strawn can be relied upon to do what is right for Manhattan.

We urge the voters to join us in supporting Bob Strawn for city commissioner on Tuesday 3 April.
