City Commission Election Important

To the Editor:

This coming City Commission election may be one of the most important one in some time. The downtown redevelopment project and the phenomenal growth in Manhattan being driven by the troop expansion at Fort Riley offer us some great opportunities but also some very substantial risks. We need leadership on the City Commission with the experience and vision to guide us through these very complicated times.

Bob Strawn is the candidate with such experience and vision. Bob has 40 years of business experience managing operating budgets in excess of the annual operating budget of the city. He has dealt with complicated business issues such as acquisitions. He will be able to weed through the complicated development issues and be able to understand the business plans of companies wanting to come to Manhattan and their chances for success.

Bob is also someone who appreciates the character of Manhattan. He has lived in Kansas for 25 years. Both of his children graduated from K-State. He chose Manhattan for his home. Bob understands the ever increasing property tax burden. Bob believes with growth should come economies of scale. He is committed to overall efficient government. This election is very important. Please join us in voting for Bob Strawn.
